Cheap eyeliner not worth it

I've just ran out of my Clinique quick liner and in an attemp to save money have got a Boots 17 one for just over two pounds. However it has smudged in no time hence not value for money, back to Clinique me thinks.

I picked up a small sample of Clinique (new) mascara, I think it was out of a gift pack, at a car boot sale last Sunday and Ive got to say its the best Ive ever had,
Ive always bought the cheaper stuff, but not any more.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
If you know anyone that is visiting the USA the savings on Clinique are significant - it doesn't seem to be classed as a premium brand there?0

Don't you always find that with some things you get what you pay for? I don't buy premium everything, I'm happy with Boots No7 blusher and mascara but like Clinique eyeliner, foundation and lipstick oh and I do like Clinique cleanser, not cheap but lasts ages. I make cut backs in other areas like I colour my own hair and use Body Shop perfume so I tell myself I can justify the Clinique.0

Remember you can always shop around for premium beauty products online to get a better deal - even with postage it quite often works out cheaper and there are plenty of reliable retailers.0

I think the No.17 has changed its formula and brush since I used to buy it as it isn't how it used to be. Boots No.7 though is a near match for Mac where the eyeliners are concerned in my opinion. But then you have to like Mac and they are not so cheap (unless they start offering the voucher again).
Bojours is also good for eyeliners- the felt pen type liner doesn't seem to smudge and the liquid liner (clubbing version or something like that) works well and applies easily, very fine brush.
But the award for eye liners has got to go to Bobbi Brown for the gel-pot liners they do. Not had anything come close to this for ease of use and staying power- plus not to difficult to take off. Not cheap though.0 -

Hi its the pencil eyeliner I got from 17, I much prefer Clinique quickliner, it stays put and doesn't need sharpening.0 -
hi , I am using a clinique one wihch I am happy with but I have heard really good things about Rimmels Glam Eye Eyeliner which is cheaper but gets great reviews. Think it is a liquid though.0

See, I always get the cheapest eyeliner as I like the smudged look! I'm currently using Collection 2000. The twist up ones aren't great as they just wipe off if you try and smudge them but the pencil one works perfectly for me

No7 do a good eyeliner with staying power.
I got one in a gift with purchase and used it on holiday,it stayed put even with a very humid temperature of 31 degrees.
Was quite impressed.0 -
I like the eyeliner from the new Accessories make up range (£3). I don't tend to like cheaper ones as I tend to find them not soft enough, but I am impressed with this one, for the price.
That said, Chanel is my absolute favourite!!0
