Can't pay creditors~what to expect.

Hello,
In a position where I am unable to pay my creditors anything.
I understand that I need to write to them explaining the situation.
Assuming this situation persists in the longer term what can I expect to happen?
As I have just had to sell stuff to ensure we can pay the rent this month I think I would be declined if I applied for a DRO.....and obviously I do not have the funds to file for bankruptcy.
We are applying for HB and JSA (though I think my JSA may be declined as I resigned my post).
Hopefully we'll be granted HB/CTB which would help ensure we can make the rent each month.
So, in a nutshell.......beyond the stream of letters and phone calls what should I expect from the creditors?
Doing all I can to avoid this scenario but not hopeful......right now my priority is keeping a roof over our heads.
Hope this post makes sense, think I am quietly having a nervous breakdown.

Yes, I have spoken to them.
They reminded me about priority debts and advised writing to creditors.
What I want to know is what sort of actions should I expect from creditors in the longer term?
EG. Somehow I could not see them accepting nil/token payments for very long.
Hoping our position improves but hope alone won't pay the bills.
Need to mentally prepare myself.0 -
Why on earth did you resign from your job:eek:make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I would rather not discuss that. (I got the impression I was headed for the sack and figured resignation would look better on cv).
Yes it was a mistake and I have since pleaded for it back to no avail.
Now I need to try to deal with the consequences.0 -
Anyone got any advice as to what to expect?
Aside from the endless letters/calls what is the worst that would be likely to happen in the longer term?
Also, a general query.
If one passes away would that be an end to all unsecured debts?
They cannot become another family members problem?
Sorry for the depressing tone of the question.0
