Tax credits?

Hi, Our 14 year old granddaughter came to live with us on the 19/12/2006 we have received family allowance from that date . My question is will our claim for tax credit be back dated to then or will her father continue to be paid till our claim is processed? Thanks.

Your claim should be backdated from the time you received family allowance.
