Hi all,
Can anyone point me in the right direction for getting a stunt scooter?
My son has seen the jd bug pro extreme v2.0 with tbar handles and is now nattering my life out for it!
I'm abit reluctant to let him spend so much on a scooter but i doubt i'll get a minutes peace until he gets one.
Anyone reccommend the cheapest place to get this or a similar scooter?
Thanks

I wonder if you'll get one for less than £80?
there's two option:
Convince him to wait till it comes down in price (may be unlikely option) - consider tracking the price on camelcamelcamel or PriceProtectr - these track Amazon's prices. Don't assume prices are cheapest though, even when they drop.
Or try searching the MegaShopBot. More shopbots can be found at the bottom of this page.0 -
My son is quite a serious scooter rider, I feel your pain for the nagging!
The bug ones are not rated very well by him or his mates, they break very easily. A lot of the stuff he buys comes from here

I've just looked in his bedroom, he has 4 scooters lined up and built lots of various parts, he has a couple of Razor Pro's in there the others are custom built.
We have had in the past that lasted 5 minutes - Grit and madd so avoid those ones.0 -
Thanks for the replies x
I have been and looked at the jd bug scooter at halfords and tbh it looks rubbish, very poor welding and a pretty drab blue colour.
He's after something bright that he can customise himself slowly so i have looked at the razor ultra pro lo. It looks alot better made and is silver so i'm sure he could get attachments in pretty much any colour.
Has anyone had any experience with the slamm scooters? his mate has one that he likes but with the poor build quality of some scooters i want him to go for something that has good reviews.
cheers xx0 -
My 2 Sons both want a stunt scooter for Xmas too (they are 9 and 6) one of their friends has a Slamm scooter and they both seemed very impressed with it, so I was thinking about getting 2 of those....reviews seem ok online.
I have been looking on Kates Skates website and there is 7% cashback on Quidco.

Hi, I sell a new brand of stunt scooter called a "Syk" it is similar to the Slamm and Roces scooters but better build quality. These are selling at £69.99 plus £8.99 carriage (next day). They are on Ebay also if you want to have a look. on the plus side these have alloy wheels, and sealed ABEC 9 bearings (best, and keep the water out). I had these made specifically so the quality is very good. MGP Nitro Extremes are the scooter to have at the moment, but they are prone to breakage due to the slots and holes everywhere they employ to keep the weight down. I brought my two a Slamm and Roces they are ok, and havent had any trouble with them. I imagine they all come from the same factory anyway...0

My son got a Slamm Scooter for his birthday in September, he loves it, rides it everywhere and it takes a battering at the skate park. It cost £70 from Amazon but I have been impressed with the quality, it is very sturdy and would recommend it.
It's similar to this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/images/B004O2A1ZE/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=318949011&s=sports:hello:0 -
I too can now vouch for the slam scooter. My son loves his.
he paid £90 for the type he wanted and its his pride n joy! even gives it a polish every time he uses it!!!

In this price range you cannot beat a Slamm Scooter. Best value for money around. Strong enough to perform sick stunts, cheap enough for parents not to go crazy :eek:0
