Baileys

Hi

Please does anyone know where there are offers on Baileys or can they recommend any cheaper substitutes?

I am on a low carb diet and my treat is black coffee with a shot of Baileys. Having lost 4 stone I want to keep at it and this really keeps me going, but is expensive.

Many Thanks

Netto sometimes have good Baileys offers if you have one near you.

Or try O'Grady's Classic Country Cream (700ml) £4.69 (Sainsburys), Irish Meadow Cream Liqueur (700ml) £3.97 (Tesco), Irish Knights Irish Country Cream (700ml) £4.42 (Asda), Ballycastle (Aldi) and Queen Margot (Lidl). Not sure how much the last two are.

Or if it's not too high carb for you then you could consider making your own.

Be careful which 1 you get as theres a slighty variation with these baileys substitues eg 1 tis made with a different ingredient as to what baileys is. Check mysupermarket out.

As well as mySupermarket which only includes the top four supermarkets, Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury's, Waitrose/Ocado, try searching HotUKDeals as this will also cover most places that will sell Baileys.

Did think of the ingredients when posting as well, and as DCFC79 has pointed out, make sure to check that as well.

    Thanks for your replies

There seems to differing carb counts for a shot of Baileys depending on which site you use so I think that I will have to look at the bottles and hope that the information is there.

Has anyone got a particular favourite within the substitites?

I know from experience that i tried what i thought was a baileys equivalent wasnt such due to the ingredient. Its just ingredient but which i think is fine wine whereas baileys is made with whiskey. Its easy mistake to make, i wasnt aware myself at the time that there was 1 alternative made with fine wine and then baileys made with whiskey. I have tried aldi's, lidl's and sainsbury's versions and they aren't too bad.

The tesco finest cream liqure tastes exactly like baileys. It does vary in price though, sometimes a lot cheaper but not always.
