Work from home

Hi, any suggestions as to working from home? Heard horror stories but I really need to generate some income as things are going from bad to worse and I'm now on long term sick and doesn't seem to be a job for me to go back to.:o

Hi stressed, I don't know the answer to that one, have you looked for a bit from Martin on working from home?
I'm sure someone will have the answer, I just wanted to say hi, welcome and good luck babe!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

I've worked from home for nearly 20 years and there are lots of advantages (as well as disadvantages).

It all depends on what you are able to do - what is your background? What qualifications do you have? What skills can you offer?

At the bottom end there are a lot of exploitative companies that offer things like packing envelopes, which are best avoided. At the top end there are all sorts of consultancies which require lots of skills and qualifications.

In between there are things like proofreading (though there is lots of competition for this).

Do some research on the web and at the library and see what might suit you.

    Good luck!

Can you do whatever your last job was working from home? I work from home and it certainly has its good points. Could you go to college to retrain in something that you could use from home? Just wanted to wish you luck finding something.

    Take care xx

Whilst they won't generate a lot of income, there are various sites you can use to earn a bit of cash or vouchers. Eg
https://www.lightspeed.com survey site paid in vouchers
    https://www.yougov.co.uk same but for cash
https://www.quidco.com for cash back and click throughs
https://www.pigsback.com another points back site, that you can get vouchers on
https://www.mutualpoints.com points site, earn points for cash - takes quite along time thought.
https://www.aqa.com - i think this is the website. This is answering questions and you do have to have a certain level of education. And they are not always recruiting.

There are others, but I don't have personal knowledge of them.
    hope this helps

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • I would try and contact some local charities and see if they need part-time help and they might be flexible about working from home. Anything computer-based should be relatively easy to do it from home.
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.
  • Have a look at the great bit on the side hunt on the mortgage wanabe forum - its one of the stickies near the top. Not all home based but you might pick up a few ideas from there.

    Hi,

I really sympathise with your situation. I too am in a similar situation. You need to jott down everything you enjoy and everything you are able to do. There are many ways to save money online, as previously pointed out and there are a few ways to make short term income for example, matched betting, selling on ebay, boot sale etc etc. Although many people have left their jobs to work full-time on ebay!

However for a long term income, have you considered.....writing a book, working on forums, doing your own websites (dropshipping/affiliates), buying a franchise. If you don't want to be self employed think about the skills you already have from your previous jobs and contact the companies that you would like to work for directly and ask if they have any jobs, working from home. If you show you are eager and willing to work...you are half way there!

Steer clear of filling envelopes, I don't know anyone who has successfully had this as a job!

Hope this kick starts the ideas....

    Good luck

I think you are referring to AQA (Any Question Answered) - their website is https://www.issuebits.com .

You may have seen it a couple of weeks back but I put p a post about DHL parcel delivery (from your car) in your local area.

If it appeals, search under my posts and give them a call...........
