cook from frozen meat

I have been watching the iceland cook from frozen adverts and wondering could it be done at home with meats bought my self? I've always been taught not to cook meat from frozen, are they adding something that makes it possible without illness? Or is what i have been told all these years wrong?
Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.

I often do so, mince, chicken, stewing beef etc. I p'raps wouldn't risk pork, but everything else, especially if I'm slow cooking overnight.

I find chicken easier to cube if i cut it frozen, then i just shallow fry it on a lower heat for longer before it becomes curry or whatever.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

There was something on tv the other week and it mentioned pork. People always cook it to death, due to there being some disease or something in it, during the 2nd WW. Apparently now it can be cooked so it's still a little pink as there's no risk of getting this illness or whatever it is.

Anyway, my point is that pork can be cooked the same as other meats as that disease has gone.... although not being a food and science expert I can't be sure, lol
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

lol, well I'm sure it was Trichinosis, on saturday kitchen or a programme like that. The cook said it didn't exist anymore. Hmm, not sure how true that is now! I do know my mam cooks pork to bloody death tho, and I don't have worms.

You can cook small pieces from frozen, like minced or cubed or even thin slices like chops. Anything as long as the heat will penetrate it quickly and have time to cook the middle before the outside overcooks. You mustn't cook thick pieces like joints or whole chicken from frozen though otherwise the inside will still be raw (and possibly warm raw at that) at the end of the cooking time, and could still harbour bugs.

I had severe food poisoning from cooking pork stir fry from frozen. so I wouldn't risk it.

I was always told that anything under an inch or so thick can be safely cooked from frozen.
My hubbys favourite is pan fried chicken breast, which I always do from frozen, he has the most delicate of stomachs and he never has a problem.

I would advise people to Google this if you want to know the risks involved.
Cooking is a science, not a hit and miss affair, really not concerned with what your mum, grandmum, neighbour has told you, get the facts right for your own wellbeing and that of your family /friends and for your own peace of mind.
