Can anyone help me with a twisted, stuck seat belt?!

My sons car seat shoulder strap has become bent over in 2 in the bit that goes in to the buckle. It's stuck tight so i cant adjust that side to belt in my child - not safe to use but i need to use the car seat every day so have to try and fix this - now! LOL.
We all know the material a seat belt is made form and the buckle hole is solid plastic. What wikll make the belt slide out? Have tried fairy liquid with no joy. Any more tugging and the belt is going to have a dngerous amount of wear and in a accident might not be safe - and aniother car seat is not moneysaving so need to try and rescue.

What do we think?
Thanks in advance!

I end up in this mess with a normal seatbelt when putting on my son (booster seat). I have found that pulling one edge of the bent over bit while wiggling the buckle bit back and to will help if you have the patience to stand there and do it. You have to do it gently though because as you say you don't want to create any wear. Washing up liquid is a good idea to use alongside this method.

    Hope you get unstuck soon

  • Been at this for 30 mins now and no progress! My hands are red and sore and there's bubbles all over the car seat! And i need the seat belt working for 2!!!
Why me!!!! Its wiggling now but not moving in either direction. I have no idea how it managed to get in to this position. Folded right in half - so annoying

Done this a few times myslef when strapping in my daughters car seat and ended up going to the local garage so they could take the pannel off to get to the seatbelt and then had to take the belt off and put it back on again. Cost me £5.00 but at least it was sorted

Did you get the seatbelt sorted?
