I bought some apples from Aldi for 69p for four (should've guessed!) and they're really quite sour and powdery. I like sweet crisp apples so they're definitely not to my taste! I've got three left and I'd like to make something with them, maybe a marmalade or chutney but I don't have a clue where to start. Does anyone have any ideas?

With just 3 apples what you suggest sounds very impractical

make some apple sauce? Bake them with the cores taken out and a slit cut into the skin all around the middle of them, stuff them with sultanas (or any dried fruit) mixed with honey. dot with a bit of butter and bake in a hot oven for around 25 - 30 mins.0

Take them back to Aldi and exchange them for something else!

Well of course, you wouldn't know they were sour and powdery until you tried one!
I just suggest this as a possible solution and obviously only if it's convenient for you. I have taken stuff that's been below par like this back to supermarkets as a matter of principle and I think it's worth doing to make a point, if it doesn't inconvenience you too much.
It's in accordance with the Aldi policy anyway. I've never had any quibble whatsoever, I've taken back bitter oranges that were described as sweet and juicy to Tesco and terribly tough sirloin steak to bothTesco and Somerfield over the years amongst other things!
We shouldn't have to be fobbed off with unpalatable stuff even if it is cheap!0
