Selling our house - spot cleaning cream settee and carpet

Options
We are about to tell our house and want to clean the place to a good standard.

We have a cream settee that has got dirty on one arm from people brushing past it. The rest of the settee is fine. It is washable but still scared:eek:

Also, we have a cream carpet that has black around the edges, not meant to have these marks and they are ugly.

What is the best OS way to remove these marks?

If anyone has any idea how to remove the blue from a Vileda mop in my vinyl lino, I would appreciate it. I have tried allsorts and nothing will shift it.

I have Stardrops, bicarb, white vinegar, lemon juice, Star (the white cloudy one) and bleach. We also have flash floor cleaner, polish and an own brand Dettox.

Any tips anyone has to get the house to gleam and smell nice so it looks like the cleaners have been in would be appreciated too.

Many thanks:)

my friend gives her sofa the once over with baby wipes and it comes out fine, if its washable it should be fine to stick in the machine with lots of powder on a lowish setting i`d be tempted to stick it straight back on the sofa still damp though to help it stretch back into shape you can always iron it when it has dried. also a tip for cleaning lino floors is to put a scoop of washing powder and a bit of bleach in the water my lino always comes up sparkly:j

forgot to say... doh! for the marks around the edge of the carpet where the hoover doesnt reach i presume(which i get too) i think its a case of giving it a good vac with just the pole and then roll your sleeves up and get stuck in with a warm bowl of soapy water and a little scrubbing brush and then kneel on the wet bit with a towel to get the worst of the wet up then attack it again. best of luck with selling your house and dont worry too much everybodies house has the lived in look to some extent or is that just me:o :rotfl: and when i was househunting some people didnt bother at all!
