i want a memory card for canon camera

i have a canon ixus 500 digital camera but the memory card only seems to hold 25 pictures and i need a bigger one before the middle of feb. I cant find any specific to that camera (though possibly my shopbot searching is lacking).

can someone please tell me where i can get a compatable memory card? or what sort of memory card would be compatible please?

The ixus 500 uses compact flash memory cards.

As for where to buy thm from there are hundreds of posts asking for best place to buy a memory card, mamory prices are so volotile they go up and down daily so just keep checking the prices, ebay, mymemory, scan.co.uk etc most places sell memory cards even tesco and asda.

There are plenty of different types of compact flash card, they are all basically the same and should work in your camera. You can never have too much space, that holiday to new york whatever you could one day need to take a few hundred photos so buy the biggest card you can dont scrimp on a 256mb card when for another £5 you can get 1GB. When you have a look at the cards you will see x40/x80/x??? they mean the cards are faster at being transfering data, the bigger the number the better same with another way they show them 10mb/s is 10 mb per second transfer rate the higher the number the better. you will proberbly see 2 numbers giving a read and a write speed bigger is best.

The reason to have the faster speeds is that your camera needs to write the image file to tha card, the faster the car the faster this happens and you can continue and take another picture, you dont really want to be waiting for the camera to write an image when your subject is going past.

Try http://www.7dayshop.com/ they are usually cheap. They have a 1gb generic CF for £7.99 and a Kingston for £11.99 at the moment.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.
