Yeah just tried it ,it said that the code has expired last night midnight :(- maybe youve been lucky! Fingers crossed Aesop:)
  • afternoon all. Taking a sneaky break from decorating the dining room, v tedious painting.

'Nice' letter from boss yesterday saying a big NO to my request to go part time when I return from my mat leave. Just brilliant. Then in Grazia I read about a woman banging on about how she was happier before she had her kid & that her kid interferred with her freelance writing & put mucky hands on her Whistles dress. Some peeps don't know they are born! Try looking at a monthly childcare bill of £1k:eek::eek:

edit - really sorry Lilly, hope your neck gets better!

my old company said no to me going part time too, hence I took voluntary redundancy and spent a year with DS before looking for work,

pft to the woman who was happier before she had her child, I am happy with DS even though we are struggling, I wouldn't give him up for the world.

The Pollyanna part of me keeps me going, and saying "well at least it's not forever & you can look for PT work" - they are babies for such a short time I don't want to miss as much as I did with DD. Plus don't want DD to be at school until nearly 6pm every day. OH is going to ask to reduce his hours instead, I think that secretly he's very excited about it:rotfl:
  • I keep forgetting to let you lot know about this offer - see post 332
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3092480

subscribe to Home & Garden mag £1 for 3 issues & get Molton Brown shower gel (about £17) as a gift. Don't forget to cancel D Debit. I've done 2, nice xmas presents for someone who knows how ridiculously overpriced MBrown is.

Right, can't put it off any longer, back to painting!

yes I don't like the idea of DS being at school from 8am until 6pm. It is a very long day for a small person. Bad enough for an adult.

And to be honest, he is ready for school but cannot go until next year due to being born after sept but loves it at nursery. He asks when I am not working, if we are going.

So we have probably come to the age where he no longer wants to be with me so much :(

good luck with DH's request, hope he gets it.
