Dismissed from job - can I appeal against unfair dismissal?

Hi Folks
I recently started my full time office job - 6 weeks ago, and I have been dismissed today. They did give me a contract which I signed. The reason they gave for dismissal was that they thought I was not good enough to do the job effectively, although the manager who I was working for, and who was the one who dismissed me, did interview me before giving me the job.
However, I feel that not enough support was given to me by the manager, when I first started the job
Do you think I could claim for unfair dismissal?
Thanks in advance for your response.

Did you ask for any support before you were dismissed?0

unfair dismissal claims are very hard to win. In this case it is a disagreement on your standard of performance, and you were dismissed in essentially a probationary period. I would not waste your time; move on, and good luck with finding your next job.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
Hi, unfortunately during the first year of employment your employer can dismiss you and there is very little that you can do about it. The only exception is if you have been discriminated against, for example if you had told your employer that you were pregnant.0

Hi Folksd
Thanksd for you replies.
Yes, I did definitely ask for support on numerous occasions, my manager kept promising me to help me - he always used to say that we will sit down later on today ... tomorrow to go through the work. However, that never happened.0 -
As above but note that they must give you at least a week's notice (or more if specified in your contract) or give you payment in lieu.
They must also pay you for untaken holidays which, assuming you have not taken any, would be just over three days pay.0 -

You can be dismissed WHILE you are pregnant but not BECAUSE you are pregnant!0 -
As others have said, you have no unfair dismissal claim. It may feel unfair - but that's not the same as unfair in law.
Make sure you are paid for your notice period, and any untaken holiday.
