Clairol Nice ´n Easy OR Loreal Color Experte?

Hi,

I have a lot of grey hair; the non-grey ones are dark brown in colour.

Of the 2 below:
(a) Clairol Nice ´n Easy
(b) Loreal Color Experte

which one is good at at covering the grey and doesn't smell too nasty? Also, should I be looking at a permanent dark brown colour?

If the above 2 is no good, can someone please recommend me an alternative.

Thanks in advance.

I have always used Clairol Nice n Easy and my hair has always been in very good condition and covers the grey. I have usd Loreal accassionally but I must admit I preferre Clairol as it leaves my hair feeling very soft and in excellant condition. But to be honest both products are good you have to just find one that suits your hair.

Hi - I've used both and find them good (but do the test first of course) - the Colour Experte is excellent and I find that it helps make it look more natural as it is multi-tonal and not just "flat" colour. Hope this helps. My current problem is how to stop using the stuff at all now that all the roots are grey I just don't know best to make the transition from "coloured dark brown" to natural grey! Any suggestions gratefully received.
  • I have found the colour experte to fade to a coppery colour on occasions. Which is great is you like the colour but if you are like me and want to be a brunette with blonde highlights then the colour isn't what it says on the packet!

have u tried Herbal essences....it doesnt have ammonia and leaves hair really soft. My hubby tried that and it covered all his grey hairs and left his hair soft and healthy looking. You should give it a go. He has black hair and he used the shade....chocolate velvet.

Thanks for all the replies. Was going to buy Nice n Easy as it was on offer at Superdrug. Unfortunately, they had run out of Dark Brown and Black colour.

ayeshasi - I have read some pretty good reviews on ciao about Clairol Herbal essences. Does your hubby find that the colour fades quite quickly?

    Cheers.

    Hi,

I have to dye my hair because of my Grey/White hair! I find that I have to use a permanent as the semi-permanent doesn't cover suffiently. Also as I have quite fine hair, the white hair, makes my scalp look almost bald! So I have to dye every couple of weeks!

I tend to use which ever dye is the cheapest and on the advice of my hairdresser, I mix equal amounts of the dye/developer and just apply to my roots, with a brush, as the permanent dyes are not good for your hair if you apply them regularly.

I'd be interested to know if the Hebal Essences one is permanent without any ammonia.

I have used the nice and easy, which is fine, but not the other one.
