Fresh chicken out of date by 3 days....

....is it safe to eat? Says use by 27 September on the pack....

Do I need to pop back to asda to get something else for tea?!!

Wish I'd noticed the date issue would have put it in the freezer.

  • When it comes to Chicken, I wouldn't bother. It's not very MSE but I'd save the hassle of food poisioning and get something else...
  • Thanks, I'll not risk it and be more date aware next time. Am quite cross with myself over it!
  • I've just recovered from a campylobacter infection, more than likely caused by infected chicken. I lost half a stone in 5 days, was on codeine for the pain from stomach cramps and had to force myself to drink rehydration salts as my lips were cracked to pieces from dehydration. I can only thank my lucky stars than my small children didn't catch it from me. Please don't risk it. I'm not even going to go into the more unpleasant effects...

    Chicken? No, throw it out.

I once got food-poisoning from chicken and just wouldn't risk any out-of-date meat at all.
I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.
