Affordable accommodation on Northern Line

in England
hiya,
I am going for an interview next week for a job in Hampstead, North London...the wage isn't fantastic (19k), so I am left trying to find reasonably priced (hah!) accommodation somewhere along the Northern Line in London.
Obviously the job isn't a given, but I am competing with at least 2 other candidates who live very close to the office in Hampstead (how they can afford to on such a low wage I've no idea!).
In an absolutely ideal world, I'd love a one bed flat, but I don't think this is realistic, so am looking into flatshares...can anyone suggest any reasonably priced areas that I can start looking into?
At the moment I am back living with parents in Surrey, so am looking at a 2+ hour commute, which isn't really feasible.
I'd just like to be able to go into interview (next thursday) and be able to say that I have a good shot at being able to get accommodation within commuting distance.
Also, I don't drive, so tube/buses are a must for me.
