I've just discovered Lidl today, due to the thread on here. I bought pepperoni, peppermint tea, easter eggs and noticed some bargain prices on other things I dont need. I'm going back to do a full shop next week.
I've been in Aldi but only to buy a kids bike, what are the best buys in Aldi and how do prices compare to Lidl/Tesco/Asda?

Good quality, good prices on mostly 'unbranded' goods. Suggest you go to http://uk.aldi.com/ where you can see latest offers and can sign up to receive offer details in advance.0

I get my cat food from there 99p for a 1kg box as opposed to around 79p for 400g box elsewhere, i mistakingly bought some Whiskas on offer from somewhere else but my cat would not eat it.WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..

Their dried pasta is superb, especially the tagliatelle. My OH is Italian and also a chef and says it's the best he's had outside of the old country!0

Their ciabatta bread is superb,49p. Also Badgers Creek wine at £2.99 a bottle. You can if you think you can!0

Extra virgin olive oil less than £2 a bottle. In my experience pretty much everything Aldi and Lidl sell is good quality, if it's cheaper than you'd pay elsewhere then buy it! Lidl's Pesto sauce for 89p a jar is very tasty.0

Beans and sausage 29p a can, chopped tomatoes, dried pasta, their bacon is gorgeous £1.99 for a double pack, their whole chickens are lovely and are BRITISH! They also do pro-biotic yoghurts with wholegrains in the tub is quite big (muller size) think the are 26p each or there abouts and they are gorgeous! The wine is excellent, cakes and biscuits for the kids are good too!
I go in every two weeks and stock up on the things we like from there.

The tools on offer at Aldi (screwdriver, plier sets etc) are always good value and quality, I also bought an electric jigsaw from them which was excellent around Christmas time if I recall it was only £8-99p, it is now being put through its paces fitting my daughters new laminate flooring.0

I love their smoked fish and continental meats - but everything is good!
I do not see how even the choosiest person could be disappointed.:):):)"This site is addictive!"
