Not sure where to post this.
Ive just received two phone calls this morning from somone asking for a Mrs xxxxxxx to ring them back, quoting a reference number.
Now this is not my name and I have lived at this address for several years and I have never received any post in the name quoted either.
Ive done a little bit of digging
and it would appear it is a debt recovery company, cunningly disguised as a family tracing company or similar:rotfl:. From what I have read, they leave incorrect details in an attempt for you to ring them back and give them your actual details, and it is actually you that they are after (if that makes sense?)
Currently, I dont have any bad debt, Im not in a re-payment scheme and other than a couple of late payments (paid within the same month) I dont have any bad credit. Also, my number is ex directory??
Should I ring them back - certainly not happy giving my details over the phone to some random debt recovery agent when I dont have any bad debt?
Has anyone any idea who this company is? Or had any dealings with them?
Thankyou for any help :T

I'd ignore it. If they call again and you answer then I would just say you've never heard of that person and this has been your phone number for x years.
If you don't have any outstanding debt in arrears then I wouldn't worry too much that its you they are trying to track down. But equally I wouldn't volunteer your name either.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
