I went to go see Notes on a Scandal tonight, but there was something wrong with the roads near my house. It took me 30 minutes to drive through my small village, which killed any chance I had of seeing it :( So instead of seeing the movie I spent 30 minutes in traffic then turned around and came home. Hope everyone else who went had fun!
  • 'Notes on a scandal' was absolutely fantastic - the four of us were literally on the edge of our seats in one scene hanging on every word. I don't want to give too much away but it's very thought provoking, poignant and almost creepy in parts.

To see these two great pros at work Judi & Cate is sheer joy. Real nail biting story, original script and sumptuous music soundtrack - truly excellent.

If Judi has been nominated then she deserves to win although I expect the real winnings will come from the box office takings when word of this movie spreads. I recognised some of the london locations which was nice - it's basically an all Brit flick......

3 cheers for 'Notes on a scandal'
you know when you're getting older - the wife says, "let's go upstairs and make love" and you reply, "I can't do both" !!

Loved it too although my husband didnt think it was his kind of film... fair enough I guess. Brilliant thuogh - but not as good as the book.

Where do you think the london locations were? There was one point where I saw a sign with a road name and despite my squinting I couldn't really read it! Any ideas where Sheba's house and the school were, etc?

You didn't miss much!! In MY opinion!!!! And I seem to be in the minority!!
The film held my attention all the way through, and then kind of 'faded out'!!
    In MY opinion!!

Loved it too!!! I haven't read the book but I would like to now. Very well acted and totally believable. I don't think it is for everyone though, it makes a change from a lot of the shallow stuff from Hollywood. I saw The Holiday and thought Kate Winslet lifted it to bearable. I would pay to see Notes on a Scandal again
Just looking to save a few pennies here and there

    Hello,
just wondering if anyone knows what certificate Hot Fuzz has been given?
I've done a search but it just says TBC. I was hoping to take my daughter.
    TIA

It looks very much like it'll be a 15. I'm 99% certain of it :)

I've booked with Vue to go to a "Hot Fuzz" gala night - screening, free Shaun of the Dead DVD, free poster, free drink and popcorn for £10!!

The certificate for the film on their site is 15 :)
