Sofas in South-East

HI,

I think I posted this in the wrong forum yesterday - oops!

My OH and I have just moved in together and are totally overwhelmed by how much stuff we need to buy even though we've had lots of generous hand-me-downs! The main things we need are sofas (probably 2 two-seaters).

Does anyone know where is good to buy a sofa from? We are living in South London / North Kent so somewhere in the South-East would be best.

We have been given some donations(!) by our parents and are prepared to pay up to £1000 per sofa for something of excellent quality but that's the absolute max! We would rather pay more for something that will last than a bargain that needs replacing next year...

We are considering waiting for sales but the house is victorian with lots of original features so we want a classic style and not sure these will be in the sales?

Any help / tips would be greatly appreciated

p.s. We like the 'Esme' from BHS - does anyone have experience with their furniture?

My advice is to go to Tottenham Court Road (Goodge Street tube station), there are several sofa shops within yards of each other, from Sofa Workshop to Natuzzi to independent retailers. Plenty of choice.
