$109 to £89 isn't as bad as it could be, unless you're talking about the ad sponsored one for $79 which Amazon UK don't actually sell?

The new one doesn't have a keyboard, so it might be a bit difficult to use on 3G!

My 9 year old book mad son has asked for a kindle, but whats this about amazon releasing a rival for the ipad, Im so confused with all this technology.

If someone could explain i'd be grateful.

They are doing a colour Kindle. It hasn't been released yet so whether it's really a rival for the iPad is speculation and/or hype.

The Kindle Fire is the colour one due for release in the US in November. It is able to play movies, music, etc and has a fast web browser.
