Price Drop?....Price increase

Tesco 'Price Drop' may be good...but Tesco are not losing out. I buy Tesco Cornish Ice-cream every week. It's usually £2.20 - £2.24. This week it is £2.99.....up at least 75p. The same with the milk...it was £1.00 then suddenly a few weeks ago it went up to £1.32...then as part of their 'Price Drop' it is £1.10.....I could name several more products that have gone up only to be included in the price drop. I'm sure there are genuine offers...but I'll be going to Sainsbury for my ice-cream it's about £2.20...until, of course, they put theirs up. Then perhaps I'll stop buying it...it would be better for my figure.

The cost of everything has gone up massively recently.

Sometimes branded things on offer are cheaper than own brands... I know OH bought a few tubs of kelly's cornish ice cream recently because it had come on a good offer.

This is why we have a 6ft freezer as well as the fridge freezer... that way we can use offers and whoopsie's to make sure we eat much better than we could afford to if we ran one small freezer :)

I have a weakness for Tesco value ice lollies (I know, I'm sick lol) there used to be (I think) 10 for £1, now they are 80p but there are 8 not 10 and the ice lollies are smaller... so they are now more expensive per lolly that they were despite seeming cheaper.

I also love frozen raspberries, yes I eat them frozen lol and they genuinely have come down in price because more shops are doing them now and I can shop around (and freeze the reduced fresh ones I sometimes find)

Our local Sainsburys is a good place to be late on a sunday afternoon (2pm+) because they reduce all the bakery items and some fresh fruit/veg, I once was buying packs of 4 hot cross buns for 8p, got a good few packs and froze them.

Anyway point of all this is that it's nice to see other people are noticing that the 'price drop' isn't all it seems. Looks like a publicity stunt to me. I'd much rather have kept double clubcard points, we save them for Christmas!
