I believe the TKMaxx Homeware only store in Hanley (stoke on trent) is currently selling off all stock as its closing down. Haven't been myself, but I've been told that there are bargains to be had there.

    I'm with Joto & Stompa

it's so badly organised, everything crammed together randomly, & the clothes all seem to look like bad American rejects or things like my mum or granny would wear

it's hard to find anything remotely nice, & on the odd occasion you do spot something decent, it's guaranteed to be available only in size 6 or XXXXXL
  • i got a kodak baby scrapbook set for £7.99. they are £20 everywhere else

I lose my temper in TX Maxx. Too much stuff crammed onto the rails, and there is only a very limited number of items that will fit me so trying to find them is a nightmare!!!

I'm another huuuuge TK MAXX fan (I also like home bargains but the two shops cannot be compared really!) I got a gorgeous le creauset baking dish for £9.99 - the exact same one in tesco is currently £18 and obviously more expensive elsehwere.

they do gorgeous hat boxes, great for stashing my toiletries in, the kids books and toys are always worth a look, and they are good for candles etc too. I love the place!

Bought a wonderful pink and funky ski helmet for £14.99 - absolute bargain. Lots of sizes and colours, small children up to adults. They are in boxes near the toys.

If you're the sort of person who likes an enhanced shopping experience, with soothing music, nice orderly rails of clothes, and an assistant to cater for your every desire, there are zillions of shops on the high street.

Personally, I would rather they didnt bother with all that and just passed the savings onto the consumer.
  • I must thank the TKMAXX supporters who motivated me to visit this shop.

We trudged round just about all the coat shops in town and tried on every suitable formal/smart long coat available and not found anything just right when I remembered folks here saying it's worth a try.

We got £220 Ballie coat just perfect for £99 cashmere and wool, far better than everything else we'd looked at.
An expensive Duvet cover set and a high quality omelette pan. There was plenty of top name stuff at sensible prices.
Ramblers looking for new Karrimoor Walking Boots could have had a £100 pair for £25.
