Hi guys, I've decided I want to take a year teaching english in asia around June/July 2012. I'm hoping to put 2.5-3k into a savings account as a back up just incase anything goes wrong and I need some money to fall back on.

However here comes the big but, I currently have a £2000 intrest free overdraft almost maxed, I work and have low out goings, approx £250 p/m without me buying my self dinners at work and going out/clothes etc. I'm still in with the rents so get my food free .

If you don't mind im going to use this thread as a bit of a journal and a source of information as i ask questions and gets tips to help me acheive this daunting goal. I know its going to be hard but im going to do my best, i earn around 1k p/m so have a £350 s/o to a savings acc I need to get changed because the intrest rate is crap. So let the saving begin .

Also feel free to post anything you think may be useful for me savings wise or any information any of you have about asia




First task clear the overdraft, by christmas day.
