Hi sally,
If you have microfibre cloths, try wiping the glasses first using a damp one and then buffing them up with a dry one.

Ring up where you got your glasses from and ask then. They should tell you for free.
Try lens cleaner if you have some.
Or failing that rince them under the cold tap.
You could use a touch of hand soap or washing up liquid, but it depends if you have any lens coatings or not.:beer:0 -
if none of the above work, try nail polish remover. gently, and only on the glass itself.

Not sure if it is OS but it will remove hair laquer. It is called isoprophyll alochol and it is available at chemists. Tell them that you want it to clean mirrors etc as they always screen why you want to buy it! HTH.0

I would be seriously very very careful about putting chemicals on your lens especially if they are coated.
If water does or lens cleaner does not work then a phone call to where you got them from is your best bet.:beer:0 -
The best thing I have found to work o hairspray is Nail Polish remover (brings Mrs MATH's glass topped vanity up a treat:D I would only use it on propper 'glass' lenses tho, if they are plastic I'd take the to the optitions and ask them to clean them. My optitions cleans lenses, tightens screws and replaced comfort pads free of charge if you pop in. HTHLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

My DS wore glasses when he was wee and they often got into a terrible state as you can imagine. The optician told me the best way to clean them was to do them as if washing dishes. Reasonably hot water with washing-up liquid. Dry with soft cloth and polish with silk (if available). Being a toddler his glasses had plastic lenses and never came to harm. These days I seem to use baby wipes for all sorts of things. Could be worth a try too as, I think, has already been suggested.
