I'm considering having an electricty pay meter put in and pay as I use rather than my usual monthly DD which is currently 90 quid but expecting it to rise sharply.
Are there any advantages to this ?
also is Airtricity still the all singing all dancing competitor to NIE as they claimed they would be ?
Thanks !

I can't see any advantage since you get a lower price if you pay by direct debit. Have you checked whether your direct debit is too high? If not, you must be using a serious amount of electricity.0

Mark - We moved from pay monthly D/D to a keypad and it was a really good move. The logistics were straight forward, first thing is to get NIE to install a pay as you go meter (no charge) and pay any outstanding money owed.
The unit price for Keypad and monthly D/D are pretty much the same. The benefit with the Keypad is you get a better understanding of how much you use (price per day/week/month) and have no monthly bills, just PAYG
Get NIE (PowerNI) to install a keypad then switch over to Budget energy and save a fortune!!0 -
We have the keypad with NIE and it's helped us be very aware of how much electricity we're using and has helped us keep control of it cause when we were paying monthly we were just wasting electricity by keeping things on that really didn't need to be on.Norn Iron Club: Member 455
