May I join in too please?

I am so skint at the moment and need to set myself some challenges.

So far I have listed 9 things on Ebay (it took me an age to work out what to do and to take some photos).

I spend a few hours each day looking for work.

I will wash up regularly instead of leaving it all to fester

Must try and tidy my living room as it is a tip (depression gets in the way same for my bedroom too).

Must write letters to housing benefit peeps, a creditor and my bank - I have decided to try and reclaim unfair bank charges because I seem to be permanently overdrawn and cannot get out of my overdraft because I have been getting working tax credits of £51 a week and the bank likes to charge me £25 each time they return a payment so I can never get back on track. Might see if I can find 3 friends who want to switch banks because my bank will give them £100 for opening an account and £50 to me if they open an account.

Good Morning Horace! Yes of course you can join in too :) We all tend to give ourselves a target of how many things in a day we want to try and achieve - I try to do 10 positive things a day and others are doing 5 a day or 3 a day so do feel free to pick a daily target that you are happy with yourself. We then come on and say what we have managed to do each day.

Well done for getting some things onto ebay - it does take a bit of time to figure that all out but it gets easier as you go along! Its great too when things sell and you get the cash through :)

I know what you mean about depression getting in the way of doing things (esp housework!) as i have that problem too. I do find this challenge can help me to feel better as well as actually help me to sort out my debts etc so hopefully it can do the same for you.

Most of us do some earning online so you will see various sites being mentioned on here - if you don't do any i would highly recommend having a go at some of them - it doesn't bring in a fortune but i am paying off my debts with these earnings and it does all add up.

With regard to your bank account - have you asked them if there is anything they can do to help you get back on track with your account? Sometimes they are happy to make an arrangement with you where they don't charge you the fee for a certain time to help you get on top of things again.

Do feel free to ask any of us for advice on here, we are all working through difficulties and happy to share our strategies :)

Welcome to the thread, i hope you find it beneficial!

    Fairy :)

    Hello everyone

    Welcome to Horace .

I have been thinking of upping my positive steps to 15 a day. I tend to get my 10 done and then do more in the evening. So I will see how I get on with 15.

    I'm starting off with:

    1. Printed off a coupon for a free pizza
    2. Had a free KFC (paid for with Luncheon vouchers)
    3. Did a survey on New Vista for £1 - up to £53 (cheque due this month)
    4. Did a survey for 50p on Panelbase - up to £7.50
    5. Playing on Bingoport (still doing badly on there)
    6. Playing on Woohoo - up to 56 gold stars
    7. Quick polls on To Luna and got paid for a survey - up to 31,205 points
    8. One Poll - up to £3.85
    9. Survey on Global Test Market - up to 645 points
    10. Completed 3,000 point survey on To Luna
    11. Signed up to Swagbucks

Will be back later with my other 4.

I like the idea of smilies as rewards by the way Fairyclicks :D

    Emz xx
