Endowment

I let the payments on a endowment policy lapse around 16/17 years ago. Would the policy still exist and would it still be worth anything to me if I wanted to trace it.

Thanks

  • Assuming a 25 yr plan, very little if anything - first 5 yrs are mostly charges.

Once prems stop the provider will maintain the life cover for a shorttime from policy funds, then it is made paid up.

If you also stopped paying premiums within the first 10 yrs, the policy will have lost its qualifying status (which affects tax status of payable funds), and may have a further negative effect (subject to status) of any SV amount that may be due (should you locate the provider).

    Hope this helps
