In rural Staffordshire, my procuration fees are normally around £300 to £350. Probably the same amount of work for a third of the return. Time to move, methinks!I am a mortgage broker. I would make sure he doesn't charge you a fee as well. Have you looked at Martin's bit about cashback in the mortgages section? It might be worth looking at that if you know what mortgage you want.0

My mortgage advisers suffer the same way. I keep encouraging them to push the independent service rather than whole of market. Independent being £500 but refund of any commission where it exists and include non commission payers in research vs commission only deals with commission kept.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Big place but not that many firms. Still mostly dominated by work from home IFAs doing home visits. Luckily there is no disclosure requirement on runner beans, tomatoes and jam which are often given to us
