Milibland's speech

Am I alone in wondering what level of cognitive dissonance this callow youth must have going that enables him to prance around on his hind legs lecturing us about 'rewarding economic producers' and 'hard working people' without, apparently, sensing even a whiff of irony?
Because I'm not sure what this privileged son of a Marxist professor of economics, who had a ten second career as a 'TV journalist' before being slid into Labour as a full-time party worker before being given a seat, imagines has ever contributed to the economy of this country, in his wretched, pampered, inconsequential life.
The richness of his sneering at Cameron (another one cast in the same mould, of course) was just wonderful. Two pathetic peas in the same privileged pod.0 -
Why leave out that other Clegg chappy ? Then there would then be three peas in the mouldy pod. If you can't beat em then join em.

J_B.
Yes, that's fair comment. I failed to include him because, of course, he is almost completely forgettable - and of even less significance than the other two idiots.
If we want to start making some real progress in this country, the first thing we need to do is stop politics being an easy career for mouthy scions of the political class who are born believing they already know everything.0 -

Sorry but he always looks like he's looking behind you - seems a bit distant? Does not inspire me anyway!0

Haven't heard his speech and don't need to.
You don't need to hear speeches nowadays, they are "reported" word for word in advance.
He will say this, he will accuse so and so.
He will receive a standing ovation
I will go to sleep.
Did he actually go on to make the speech at all, or was it all make-believe?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Andrew whatshisface was interviewing labour politicians last night, which was amusing.
Andy Burnham, Liam Bryne (?) and some other labour politician were all put in the hotseat to answer one very simple question.
Which business's are bad business's?
It was a large part of Ed's speech.
None of them could answer, and it became somewhat uncomfortable for them in the end. This morning, the speech has been somewhat tweaked and Ed didn't mean he wanted to tax bad business, as Ed wasn't going to face the same questions...asked what he meant, he swiftly moved the questioning on and back to southern cross....only problem was, he wasn't challenged like the others were...different presenter.0 -
As for Ed's speech. I loved the part that stated "we have to put politics aside, and get one with the job". Yes, good idea. <clap clap>
Minute later, ATTACK....nasty tories, nasty nasty nasty, they don't know anything, get everything wrong, can't do a thing, cameron doesn't understand anything, they are attacking the country, the NHS, the people.....<standing ovation>

Sigh.
Yes I saw that too.
And then Cable attacking the Tory right claiming they were "descendants of those who sent children up chimneys", and Huhne comparing the Tories to the Tea Party.
Ah no, that was the Libdem conference
It's politics Graham
Labour is not in power and won't be for the foreseeable future, so who really cares?0
