HPC banned me ('Only Me' was the actual executioner) for saying;
"A lot of you bears here are the type on a curry night out with mates to want to split the bill according only to what you ate and drank, rather than just splitting it equally".
I was elluding to thier intense bitterness over 'numpties' they knew who just by luck found themselves in posession of considerable equity whilst the uber bears had spent years saving into the Saffron Walden Building Society Ladybird account. Ultra cautious money ticket worshipers for whom the equity boat had passed by.0 -

To be fair though it seems to me that the bullish posters are more accepted now. It certainly used to be that simply bullish posting could result in a ban
No, that was never the case.
There has always been bullish opinion.
They banned bullish trolls.
Lets face it, you got yourself banned from credit crunch. A website that is utterly anti moderation and massively tolerant.
The only member of the UK forum to do so. Thats pretty special.0 -
While I am of a mildly bearish view on UK property, I do think that HPC has become almost like a cult - it takes a very brave or bored soul to dissent to the prevailing groupthink.
I used to post much more than now, can't be bothered with all the impotent angry people, even when you help them by factually answering their questions they insult you!
There used to be a lot of good informed posters who deserted that site in 2009, since then it is populated by mostly embittered and frustrated ignoramuses.
There is a lot of unthinking orthodoxy over there, given that they bang on about how non-HPCers are 'sheeple' etc.
It would also be interesting to know what proportion of posters on there are single and male: unpleasant misogyny seems to be common.0 -

Your right of course rob.
Those guys who actually had the prescience to see the house price coming, as opposed to the vast majority who utterly failed to see it coming.
Tell you what, you can forgive the sheeple, they were just a bit ignorant.
The former HPC bulls have no excuse. They were warned and still they stuck to their unthinking bullish orthodoxy. The wombles.0 -
Strawman.

But lets be having your point then. Those guys who actually had the prescience to see the house price coming, as opposed to the vast majority who utterly failed to see it coming.
You're praising the foresight of posters on HPC for seeing the price crash coming. In fact, many of the current posters joined after the crash began in 2007. Contrarian geniuses, eh?0 -

So basically, not adding anything to the actual discussion, just the same old claptrap that's spouted here.
Basically, a bit like joining netmums only to disagree with everything they stand for and continuously insult them.0 -

You would be right, that wasn't one of my better posts. One of them would probably have gone like this. "I know you keep on about a massive crash in house prices in excess of 50% but I just don't see it. There is already a housing shortage in the places that most people want to live. I predict there will be a soft landing".0
