I was given a few quinces on sun so i have made a quince jelly which i am very proud of as it's the first time i've made a jelly. Anyway, i thought i'd have a go at a quince cheese as i've read you can use the pulp from the jelly.
My recipe says to seive the pulp to remove seeds etc which i'm trying to do...but i've been at it for more than 20 mins and i've only managed to get a really small amount through the seive...what am i doing wrong?
Can anyone advise me please?:question::question:

How fine is the mesh? If it's a nylon type sieve you won't be able to do it.
You need a metal sieve, not too fine and usually I find a metal spoon too helps. You need not to put too much in at one go, and also to occassionally scrape all the stuff that gathers underneath into the bowl you are collecting it in, otherwise it kind of clogs up.
It IS hard work but worth persevering though Quince cheese is delicious.

Oh no...i don't have a metal sieve which is probably why i'm really struggling....any ideas what i can do rather than waste it?
Edit: i'll ask dh to nip round his mums tonight to see if she has a metal seive...keep fingers crossed0 -
