Smarties....first express I tried in Ca**philly had a shelf full of them as you entered the shop. No SEL though so took 2 packs to the till, total came to £3.94, made the excuse that I had just remembered that my friend's little boy goes 'wacky' after eating the blue ones. :o
Second express store in Ca*diff had them marked up 52p and BOGOF. Bought 6 packs and the young male assistant remarked that it was a good deal but obviously wrongly priced but 'I am not going to alter the price as that is what we have been told to display so that is what we do'. Him and the lady serving at next till both said they were going to get some for themselves and advised me to get more so I went and got another 6 packs. Will be ideal for the children calling on Halloween. :T:T
Yes we had the same thoughts on the tcos. Trouble is that once the word gets around the neighbourhood that there's a good deal at No. XX kids will be battering at the door all night:D Can't blame them though they are the next grabbit generation coming through:rotfl:

  • Hi,

I little bit OT but was wondering if you could help me.
Off for a day out over the half term and the only Tesco's I can find nearby is a 'homeplus'.
Whats the difference between these and a normal store. Is it everything except food?

    TIA

We don't get too many children calling, just a few of the neighbours and their young friends. I don't feel completely comfortable with children accepting sweets from strangers, I never allowed my sons to go 'trick or treating' but I feel mean if I don't give to the children and I also like to see their costumes, especially the 'home made' ones which I always think look better than shop bought costumes. :)

I've never been to a home store before but I did ask the same question a while back and was told that they do not sell food, but pretty much every thing else.

They sell nearly everything bar groceries although they do sell seasonal chocolates and lunch stuff.
They normally have a nice big electrical and clothing dept too :):)
