Peopleperhour is great, I make a full-time living out of it.
  • I won 2 contracts at the same time for a company that were recruiting a number of people to put product reviews on their website, the jobs were of an ongoing basis. It never came to anything as all I kept geting was emails from them saying they would still like to work with me but things were taking longer to set up. The emails eventually stopped and I never actually got the work.

I think everyone else that was offered work experienced the same. Not a very good first impression of peoplepehour for me. If there was anyone I could have complained to about it at peopleperhour I would have. I haven't really bothered with PPH since as it was a rather off putting experience.
  • I've put in a few bids on there but never been successful.
  • Sites like oDesk are great. I've closed my PPH account despite working on 2 or 3 jobs through there due to their ridiculous charges. They fall in line with most others but started billing me for not closing a contract etc. Sure, there are people willing to work for next to nothing and all the best to them. There are still more than enough employers prepared to pay the going rate.

Just my opinion this but I have used pph for a number of years. I'm surprised but pleased for the person who says they make a living out of it but I manage to get 2-3 jobs a year and have used them to outsource some jobs.

What I have found is that despite bidding on jobs and even getting selected you may still find the job being pulled..

My advice for what it is.. by all means use them as a source for some ad hoc work but not as a solution for all your dreams

That's great, what sort of jobs do you go for on there? Highly specialised stuff i would imagine.
