Honeymoon Gift Box

Hi all,

I'm looking for a bit of inspiration!

My friend is getting married in a few weeks and I'm going to make them a honeymoon gift box as part of their gift

Any ideas of what I can put in it and where to get them reasonably cheap?

So far I've came up with the following suggestions

Honeymoon Journal
Just Married Luggage Tags
Destination guidebook/phrase book

I'm looking at a total cost of around £30 for it all!

Thanks!

How about a small bottle of bubbly(the ones that are one glass servings) and a couple of glasses...or if you dont want to do the alcholic option then a nice bottle of bubble bath soak or similar

If its a beach holiday maybe a pair of flip flops

There are loads of things on ebay that you could get personalised mr and mrs depending on your budget...have a flick through using key words and something may appeal...there are things like personalised mr and mrs pillow cases...

You could get something like a nice scented candle for them..although it will need to go in hold luggage not hand luggage if they are travelling on a plane and they will need to make sure if its used whilst away it doesnt set off the smoke detectors in the room...but yankee candles do the small packs which are very nice.

If you are putting it in a box...why not add a bit of confetti so when they open it and get the bits out then they have a little reminder

  • Depends on the honeymoon but an underwater disposable camera could be good - I've wanted one on the last couple of holidays I've had.

Mini bottle of sun cream/sun block - they're always very expensive but great to have in your handbag.

I also love the passport covers with Mr & Mrs written on each of them, I saw them in Argos.

You can get just married flip flops that leave an imprint in the sand. You can also get very cheap beach towels personalised on eBay to say just married, or Mr and Mrs.

If you have a bit of time before they leave you could get one photograph of their day put onto a t-shirt.

You could put in a small glass bottle with a note saying it's to fill with sand from their honeymoon?

Sorry, some not so cheap ideas in there! :)

*I love LEJC's idea of confetti.

I love the confetti idea too and the glass bottle for the sand, so these will be included!

They are going to India, so i'm not even sure what kind of Honeymoon it is!

I've done a bit of googling and ordered a few bits and pieces

    So far I have

    Phrasebook
    Honeymoon Journal
    Do not disturb Door Hanger
    Just Married Flip Flops
Personalised Mr & Mrs Eye Masks
    Honeymoon Luggage Tags
    Ear Plugs -(Comedy Value)

Total Cost £30.24 so not bad going I think.

I have bought them a bottle of Champagne seperately, but I might include it as part of the hamper now

Might head off to the pound shops later to see what i can find to maybe fill the box up a bit!

I'm alos going to see if I cna find a Honeymoon packing checklist to print out and include it in the giftbox

Its not like me to do something so creative, so it'll either turn out a disaster or great

Now if anyone has any freebie ideas i would love to hear them!

Maggie you've just reminded me...we actually have a hurricaine lamp with a candle in that at the bottom has a layer of sand and pebbles from the beach where we honeymooned!...we bought them back in a couple of plastic bages and assembled it when we got home...

  • I've seen some nice fabric rose petals in pound shops that could be scattered on the bed. And how about something a bit naughty since it's their honeymoon, like body paint or sexy dice? It depends how comfortable you are with them of course!

  • Plug adaptor for wherever they are going? I say this because one of my OH's birthday pressies (mostly honeymoon themed) is an adaptor for our honeymoon!

Also travel games, if they are the type - you can get all the usual ones, but check amazon, I got one called 'Shakespell' which is dice with letters on, you shake them and have to spell words etc - it's TINY and will fit in his pocket on honeymoon; we play games all the time, and I thought it would amuse him to have a special honeymoon one!

HTH, what a LOVELY idea! x
