    Sorry, who?

All I seem to be seeing is cheering on more QE and longer low interest rate

Are you bowling me a Googly? I can't imagine Geneer (and his/her gang) subscribing to that one:).

During the BP oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico last year - every time Obama mentioned BP, he made sure he called it British Petroleum rather than BP. A nice way of emphasising to US voters that it isn't an American company who caused the problem (despite the other American companies involved in the operation!)

I guess it is pretty much what we have been saying, apart from the HPC crew in our midst, who appear to be cheering on Economic catastrophe

Seems a few fail to realise theres more at stake on this, than picking up a cheap house.

Somewhat ignorant considering that BP doesn't stand for British Petroleum anyway and hasn't done for ten years.

And overlooking the fact that over 50% of the share capital is held in the USA.

Agree entirely, but he's a politician so why would he let the facts get in the way of a good story?

Except it's not actually universal heath care, it's just a watered down (good metaphor for the whole term) government option which people don't have to take.

This is inaccurate. The bill introduced a mandate that the public must purchase health insurance from a private provider, in return for which the government will directly pay subsidies to these providers. Obama specifically excluded a 'government option'. Far from universal healthcare and far from socialist!

Some would argue that publicly funded private provision is the best of all worlds.
    I think....

Reflecting the anger of Americans who are blaming Europe for the current economic turmoil,

Are they having a laugh!?!? It was the US and the scammers on Wall St that caused this whole crisis in the first place!!
Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
