I need a new mascara and not sure what to buy. Am coming to the end of A Dior one but although I liked it I really don't think it was worth the £22 I paid. And really not MSE at all!
I'd like one that makes my eyelashes really long and thick (don't we all:rotfl:) and doesn't smudge or rub off in 10 minutes!
I've used Clinique ones which I do thini are worth the money but was wondering what cheaper ones have you tried and liked?

Thanks in advance. x

  • Best mascara ever is
    Maybelline Volum' Express Colossal Mascara

I live by this mascara. 3 years and I have never liked another. I did try the purple one false effect. Rubbish.
Even had the dior one. This one tops it all. It's been on the market for 3 years and still around.... says something about an industry that has a new one each week.
    it really is the best

I've been using the No.17 mascara at Boots (it has a sort of squared off tube). Being well over the age of ...lottery concent (and just about every other concent I can think of!) I was dubious but its a really good mascara! It seems to get to all my lashes and really makes me notice just how much other brands clump lashes without me even really realising! The Maxfactor new purple tubed version was my last decent mascara but I am thinking the new No.17 is actually better, both I would suggest though and the added benefit of being easily removebale.

I am normally also a luxary brand freak also, love Diorshow and Lancome and whilst these give a more dramatic look, I think in comparison the reason they are able to do this is because they clumped several lashes together to give a bolder look. I suppose you can do the same with any mascara if you overuse it enough.

Lancome hypnose, length, volume, staying power, non smudge, and easy to clean off. Sometimes it's sold in a double pack which is better value. Everytime I try another mascara I think why did I waste my money.

Elizabeth Arden double density and Clarins wonder perfect are also good for length and volume.

I've just tried benefit 'they're real' good but hard to clean off.

Debenhams will have money off from today :)

    1. Bourjois Clubbing
    2. Maybelline in the red tube
    3. EL Magnascopic

    In that order:)

Oooh now I might have to buy them all to try and thats not very MSE lol!!!
Maybelline has been recommended by a friend as has the Lancome Hypnose so maybe be between these 2.
Unfortunately Boots No 7 and Bourjois products don't suit me at all.
I have never heard of Elf? Going to Google them now!

Thanks everyone for your replies. x

  • I've tried so many mascaras and the best and most dramatic I've found is L'oreal Volume million mascara. Needs a few coats but as it builds up it doesn't get clumpy, just more dramatic so I'd recommend it :)
  • Rimmel is always good price wise and the quality too or Maybeline
  • I agree with Staceyxfx Loreal Volume Million Mascara is the best i have ever used! :money:I could not recommend it enough!
I even registered on the forums to give you this advice i love it that much hahaha!

Hope you find a one for you :) x
