I have just seen this on their website, small but noticable - its to do with there big drop prices.
They say they are going to reduce products prices with all the money they save - yeah right.
just thought everyone should know and spent up for xmas !!!!!!
Its says as of 24th October 2011 for every £1 spent you'll collect 1 clubcard point.

I know it's shocking!
And the offers are horrendous... just the same prices as a month ago... and only last A MONTH!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Just had a quick look at the rewards site and some (e.g. restaurants) are back to 4x value so maybe compensates a little if you use the vouchers for reward things.0

There were posters up on the wall behind the checkouts in my local Tesco.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

I used to be an avid point collector a few years back, especially when MFI was around.
now i dont bother..... especially becuse of the 'irratic' pricing now on everyday products ..
so now i used local independant shops, Just realise Farmfoods have some brilliant non- frozen priced products etc..
so glad i am not 'sucked in' by the points scheme anymoreWork to live= not live to work0 -
Also be aware big changes on how you spend.
In addition to going back to 4 x Cafe Rouge for example.
Tokens ordered for either Cafe Rouge, Bella Italia or Strada are
interchangeable and will be accepted at any of those restaurants.
Un-named restaurant tokens issued on or before 3rd February will still be accepted as long as
they are in date.
Also there must be other changes. For example we are unable to book Barcelo International as they have no prices for next year. I would bet they will not be available until 24th October when the 1 point = 1£ kicks back in.
We ordered vouchers before the 26th September so they are the old style. We can use for resturants/Goldsmiths/Hotels.
But we will need to spend quick.0 -
I read an article on here last week, and it's being discussed on Shop but don't drop board.. for over a week.0

it doesnt matter if the barcelo hotels are not available until after 24th october, as you would have already been awarded double points on your shop, so you wont have lost anything.
as for the double points ending, i didnt think it would last this long. it was never a perm thing.0 -
Yes double points are to end. Can't Tesco afford to keep it going ?
Surely profits of 3 - 5 billion per year they could do. Or aren't they avoiding enough tax ?
The hypocrisy of their recent advertising campaign where they said they were doing their best to help those hardest hit while at the same time prices have gone up on several of their most basic lowest price deals and they are ending the double points.
Putting prices up on some of their cheapest deals and ending double points. Is that any way to help those hardest hit during recession ?
The way to help the econbomy and those hardest hit most during a recession is for
Tesco, George Osborne (the chancellor of the exchequer for goodness sake) and Peter Green etc to pay all the taxes they owe.
Not send us hypocritical garbage about how they are helping as the price of cheapest deals rises and they end double points.0
