Haggling at Currys using cash

  • I just came back from Currys and it's no wonder why that chain is in financial trouble. I wanted to get a slimline dishwasher and saw one that I liked at Currys. The exact same dishwasher was sold across the border (about 30 miles away) in the Republic (of Ireland) for GBP 17 LESS, same store Currys. Went into the shop said I wanted the dishwasher but needed and extension hose (about GBP5,-), No sir we can't lower the price. I showed him what their colleagues 30 miles away were selling that machine for catching him out. He took the copy to the manager and the manager wouldn't budge being prepared to let the sale fall through for a piece of plastic hose, purchase price about a quid (if that). Completely shocking the lack of interest wanting to sell. They actually had the deal only had to give me a plastic piece of hose and they just couldn't be bothered. I sincerely hope that someone from Currys reads this and is utterly ashamed that in these bad economic circumstances and mother company DSG losing millions a year that at least one of their shop managers (of the Craigavon store) shows no interest whatsoever in closing a sale that actually was in the pocket, just had to give that little bit extra, customer services?, never heard of it.
Currys you're a bunch of !!!!! and need to teach your shop managers that a sale is a sale, now you've got nothing, I've taken my money somewhere else. You're losing millions, but I guess you don't need my money.

They obviously think that with your attitude your not worth having as a customer and will come back throughout the guarantee period causing hassle.

You don't have to buy from them and they don't have to sell to you.
