Hi the other car is my gf/s sorry
nothing to do with me.0 -
Ok, so your car is worth £15k. I would suggest that this goes first, and you can clear this debt.
Then buy a run around for £1000 and that keep you going for two/three years.
You can then start to put that money you save their towards the other debts.0 -
Hi there,
The car is on HP?0 -
Sorry OP, misread that, thought it was a loan.
Your SOA is already quite tight.
Might also be worthwile speaking to one of the free debt charities. Unfortunatelty not my speciality in advising in this department. Hopefully some others will be along soon to help you out.0 -
Surely your partner has some sort of income.
Is she actively seeking work.
I know the debt is in your name but has supporting her helped to run up these debts.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Hi
Are the costs on your SoA just your share or half of the costs? or are they the costs for both of you? ie is rent really £600, is elec £60 a month?
Does your partner earn?
If these are half the total costs then there should be some scope for reducing costs, eg if elec is £60 a month that is high and you should be able to reduce by shopping around/reducing usage etc. If clothing is £30 for just you can you reduce the spend on that for a while?
What is the other travel? you don't seem to be doing a lot of miles a month for £40 petrol compared to how much the car is costing you. How far are you into the HP agreement? How soon might you be able to hand back and then consider getting something cheaper.
Is there anyway you could increase your income? do overtime or a second job in the evenings or weekends? do you have anything you could sell to raise some money towards the debts? Would there be any chance you could rent somewhere cheaper than where you live now?
Is your OH in a similar situation? do they earn the same as you? do they contribute the same amount to the household?
Aside from these kinds of changes then you might want to consider a DMP and if you do contact one of the debt charities for some advice and to understand the impact it will have on you and your credit file and on your partner (if you have any joint accounts).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
