My goal for this month...

I haven't ever included my overdrafts in my figures-don't ask me why-so my goal this month is to pay off my Barclays overdraft completely. It currently stands at -£140.70 and I just transferred £7.77 to it from my FD account.Over the next few months I aim to do the same with my Abbey overdraft but that will take a little longer as it's -£1784!!

Sounds like a double lightbulb moment - good luck with beating the overdrafts.:)

Thanks-I think because it's called an overdraft rather than a loan or credit card it doesn't feel like I need to pay it back but of course I do-I'm quite looking forward to seeing my accounts in the black-think my bank managers will have a heart attack I've been overdrawn so long!

Good luck with getting that Barclay OD out of the way. It'll be one off this list and one less to worry about.

Is there anything you can do to have a "push" on it? Sorry - I don't know your circumstances or if you've sold everything that isn't nailed down already but thought maybe you could do some EBAY-ing/Amazon-ing/babysitting or whatever to help the funds.

    But anyhoo....all the best!

Nope nothing to sell(unless anyone wants 4 kids?LOL) but what I'm hoping to do is take out a set amount for food shopping and whetever is left over each week will go into the Barclays account.Plus I get my Tax Credits paid into my FD account so I'm going to try transferring odd amounts (eg if I have £154 in there I will transfer the £4) to Barclays each week.Once Barclays is clear I will do the same with Abbey only I will set myself say £100 a month to clear from the overdraft.I can't do babysitting as I have 4 kids of my own but maybe I can do dog walking or something.
