Just started on our journey !! Thanks to you all !

Well first off i would like to thank all the people who have posted on this forum sharing their experiences they have offered great advice and given me the courage to tackle my debts.

Me and the other half have debts totally £32,000 between 12 creditors. This added up to £1100 a month (minimum payments). After years of struggling to meet these minimum payments i finally had my LBM 3 weeks ago. The last 3 weeks have been fact finding, statement keeping and timing.

Tomorrow (26th September) all my letters are getting sent to creditors informing of token payments and the fact we have entered a DMP with CCCS. The full pack will also be sent off to CCCS and new bank account (CO-OP cashminder) set up.

I guess now all i have to do is wait and see who accepts the offers of payment CCCS make to creditors. Also wait for the dreaded phone calls/letters from creditors.

Once again thanks to all for sharing experiences, if anyone has any advice about what happens at this next stage of process it would be greatly appreciated ! Til then i will keep on reading and will try and post my experiences so i can help people in hopefully the same manner i have been helped.

  • Hi Barnie,

I'm in much the same position as yourself & have found most of the creditors have been very good & handled things in a very matter of fact manner. Some of the cc's have already stopped interest & other charges so hopefully all will follow. I always respond to cereditors & I think if you are straight with them they, in turn are straight with you.

    Cheers
