Can I Haggle With Comet?

I am planning on buying an lcd tv, computer desktop and a tft monitor from Comet as, with the 13% discount I can achieve through buying vouchers from the Virgin store, this is the cheapest I can find for all three of them. My question is, if I visit the Comet store initially (and don't mention that I am already getting discount because I have vouchers), do the salespeople have the power to agree a discount for buying all three items from them rather than going elsewhere?
Many thanks for any advice.

They may be likely to offer you some discount seeing that you will be going in and purchasing 3 items from them and the sales people surely earn comission on what they sell as they give the cashier their number to key it through the till.
use to know someone in Comet years ago and we use to get discount on items we purchased plus I always paid cash rather than debit / credit card0 -
Not sure on the chances of getting any further discount but always worth a go. Other possible tactic is to try to get soemthing additional thrown in - good quality cables for the TV, or upgrade the TFT from 17" to 19" etc. Final suggestion is to offer to take the warranty if they can discount the products by a similar amount - of benefit to them due to the high commision and you get the benefits of an extended warranty for a price that actually makes it worthwhile.
I should add that even with a 13% discount I'm surprised comet is best option for all 3 items. Sure you've looked hard enough? And always worth aiming for getting John Lewis to pricematch and get the benefits of their guarantee.0 -
About 7 years ago I was offered an extended warranty on a tumble drier I bought from comet. The warranty was one of those that you could claim back the cost of if you never claimed after the initial 1 year period.
IIRC the total came to something like £215. I offered him £200 and he took it.
I claimed on the extended warranty about 3 times, so it was worth it in the end.
Also, have a good look at the ex display stuff.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -

it's often suggested to do this but to just cancel the warranty the following day.
you get the discount on the purchase and don't have to pay for the warranty.0 -
We spent were after a tv 6months ago in powerhouse and it was on at 1800, we asked for discount they offered it at 1500. We asked about the stand she made a fuss about going to speak to a manager and eventually agreed we could have the glass stand to (rrp119). Then we said we'll take it if you throw in the beer fridge(£49.99 it was just before the world cup) she said she couldnt so we walked out, outside the door whilst OH had a fag she ran out to catch us and said dhe could do it. You never know unless you try...Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*

Thanks, but even by visiting price comparison/voucher sites/cashback sites Comet does work out the cheapest by the time I deduct 13%. Have checked out John Lewis as you suggested but they don't have the computer I want and the tv is £100 more there at the normal retail price. With 13% off I will be saving £103 off the cost of the tv in addition to the £100 cheaper that it already is, so I doubt they would price match that. It was worth a try though, so thanks for mentioning it.0 -
Thank you to everybody for your comments. By the way, am I right in thinking that Comet will price match their own website price?0

When I bought my husbands monitor, I asked the Sales Assistant if they would price match Argos, they had discontiued the same model as argos and had the new model for £10 more (Not much difference in specs). And the sales assistant refused, so I went to Argos! The Argos model was better than specified in the brochure and they exchanged it with no problems when it went wrong 6 months later! Apparently Comet are bad at exchanging things.
