Check out your house on the excellent solar panel calculator at comparemysolar dot co dot uk. It uses Google maps to plot your roof and then shows what you can make. My house isn't ideal (low pitch & West facing) but it makes a £50k profit in 25 years! (for a £14k outlay)
Now, tell me that that's not worth having.
Unfortunately, we are excluded nere in NI - everyone else in the UK gets it.
