lovefilm £15 voucher, having trouble?

hi
i joined lovefilm puerly for the £15 voucher, i followed a link directly from this website, which said lovefilm would honour (as they'd had a high demand) .they said voucher would be issued after 30 days (which has now passed) if at the time of registration i had 10 titles on my list. But, you can't have a list until you've registered? has anyone else had this kinda trouble?
regards

I joined Lovefilm, like you just for the voucher. I joined on 29/11/06. I received 2 dvd's, and then cancelled my account.
I have not received the promised voucher as yet.
I have not made any enquiries to get this voucher as yet, have you? Has anyone else?
    cheers

  • I joined through a link sent to me in a boots email. I cancelled within the free trial period as the service was very poor. Lovefilm would not send me a voucher and they tried all sorts of excuses, including "you must pay at least once to qualify" and "you did not have 10 films selected on the day you joined" etc. I sent a few emails to the indian based customer service department and received a number of poorly worded incorrect responses. I then rang boots customer services and they were aware of a problem with lovefilm vouchers (i.e. I was not the first to complain) and they simply credited my advantage card with £15, which was applied there and then. Much easier than arguing with Lovefilm and same result. If you are not getting any joy then try boots - it's their reputation on the line too!
  • yep, gonna phone boots customer care and get my advantage card credited. was thinking of doing that anyway.
    much thanks

No worries. Its worth harrassing Lovefilm as well as Boots. I just got an email from them saying "due to the incorrect replies sent to you by our advisors, I have referred your account to my supervisor to see if there could be anything offered to compensate for the inconvenience caused. I will get back to you as soon as I receive a response."

My bet is a few months free dvd rentals, which funnily enough won't be used!

Me too. As like you I only joined to get a few free DVD's and the £15 boots voucher. I tried to cancel on the 4th Jan, but for some unknown reason their computer didn't registry my cancellation (funny). The first I knew it had not happened was on the 10th Jan. I got an e-mail saying next DVD on its way. I logged on again on the same day the 10th and cancelled accont again. TO LATE though £9.99 had been taken from my account. And to top it all, I have been informed that because I had not choosen put 10 DV's on my list I won't get free gift. Considering you could only choose 6, that a bit hard. BIG CON to get at least 1 months money out of you. Who would manage 6 indivual DVD delivered and returned over Xmas period in 21 days.
