Manchester - Learning to sew

Hi,
Does anyone know of any sewing classes that in the Manchester area? I live towards Wigan, but I am willing to travel. Most of the classes that came up on google seemed to be dress making, or they ran in 2009. Will email a few places to see if they do still run classes, as well as posting on here.
I mainly want to learn how to make soft furnishings, but would love to learn how to do general stuff, such as using a sewing machine.
Thank you

Have you checked your local authority adult education classes? Mine (Bury) run a range of sewing courses- including a soft furnishing one that sounds like it might be the sort of thing you could find locally.
I have booked myself on a 1 day course at Abakhan in Liverpool, as the evening class course I really wanted to do was cancelled, boo. I'll try again when the new term starts in January.Won Mulberry Bag Jan 090
