Hi ppl
My wife and I are first time buyers and we have applied for a mortgage through a broker and its been almost 2 months n we have not recieved an offer. The mortgage is going through Halifax and they have already completed a valuation which was done last months 18th and there were no issue. Last week monday had a call from broker to provide detailsof whereourdeposit sowe gave them the same day with proof of bank statements and receipts. I was told this was normal and for money laundering purposes. Now its been 2 weeks since the solicitors got all the evidence for the deposit and still no offer. Why is it taking so long? The solicitor is asking for search fees but ive not even had the offer. Could anyone shed some light on why this is dragging.
Thank you

Speak to your broker, they need to explain the delays, this is not normal.I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I spoke to them on Friday and they said that Halifax have not recieved proof of deposit yet. I gave my solicitors the paper work 2 weeks ago. Doesn't take that long to fax paper work over. I'm getting worried now.0
