Hubby is threatening divorce:T as I am refusing to pay £2.48 for his beloved Kelloggs Cornflakes (750g pack). Has anyone seen them cheaper as my cornflake mountain is now non existant and he is eating the last box.

Morrisons have them for 99p for 375g.:)0 -
Keep the Kelloggs box and put in a supermarket own brand inner bag of cornflakes. Its psychological as if you keep the branded packaging and top the food up with supermarket own label stuff, most people won't take notice. But put a Tesco box of cornflakes instead and your dh will go hopping mad.
Providing you hide the cheaper version of cornflakes' box, you should be alright.
My friends do this with ketchup, coffee and gravy granules for their fussy dhs and kids and none of them have noticed.0 -

Just what I was going to suggest - it does work, cause I just bought sainsers basic Brown Sauce and put it into the empty leading brand bottle and nobody has noticed :rotfl:2026 Grocery Spends

The 750g boxes (£2.48) are on 3 for the price of 2 at Waitrose
This makes them approx £1.65 per box if you buy 3

This is so funny.
If you want to be really mischievious, you could buy a brand and own label box, open the bottoms carefully, substitute the inners and glue them up again. Let him open them without saying anything. He'll have the branded cereal first and when he gets to the 2nd box and says 'I don't want sainburys cornflakes I want kellogs' You say whatever you want to.Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. All of the following score well i.e. 10/10:
Prices with a question mark by them haven't been verified.
Morrisons Corn Flakes 500g 94p?
Aldi's Harvest Morn Corn Flakes 400g 69p?
Asda's Corn Flakes 500g £1.18 (23.6p/100g)
Asda's Corn Flakes 750g £1.48 (19.7p/100g)
Co-operative's Corn Flakes 750g £1.29?
Marks and Spencer's Corn Flakes 500g £1.99?
Sainsbury's Corn Flakes 1kg £1.94 (19.4p/100g)
Sainsbury's Corn Flakes 500g £1.18 (23.6p/100g)
Essential Waitrose Corn Flakes (750g) £1.49 (19.9p/100g)
Tesco's Value (1/10) and ASDA's Smart Price (2/10) score poorly so maybe consider avoiding. LIDL's Crownfield Corn Flakes also score quite low (4/10). Sainsbury's Basics not tasted or tested so can't comment.

I've got to say that I really like cornflakes. I must have tried every brand on the market, but have resigned myself to paying out for Kelloggs! I guess I'm voting with Bargain Junky's hubby on this one!Growing old disgracefully!0

Would you like him? Perhaps he could be the free gift that used to be in boxes of cereal! There are hardly any left now in the cupboard and it doesnt help that my 7 year old son is eating them as well. Note to self 'I will not pay £2.48 for a 750g box of cornflakes'. I may have to send him to Costco at the weekend to price them there as I know they do the huge 1kg boxes but not sure how much they are.0 -
