Me too Ini - 40 is my magic number (37 is my ideal target - i.e. 5 years), but I hpe that kids will get in the way and stop my overpayments. Will wait and see!
Good luck with your challenge. :-)Mortgage at largest: £250,000 _pale_ (March 2006)
Current mortgage (May 2014): £152,927.10

I am 41 in 7 months and it looks like we will achieve mortgage freedom within my 40th year!! Yeah!! (took 6 years in total following on from £46,000 deposit). The Which magazine overpayment calculator plus the thread on MSE are wonderful motivators!
Then we will get another 25 year mortgage for an apartment on the Kent coast where we will retire to eventually. Looking for a small one or two bedroom flat for £120k + which we can rent out for a couple of years to help clear that mortgage as well.
Good luck on mortgage freedom everyone!
