At my work we have along list but afew are Solictors, bank manager, accountants!! You don't have to know the person cerifying your documents, just that you have the original and a photocopy so they can certify it a copy of the true original.
Normally anyone regulated by the FSA is okay!!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

We got married in Cyprus and only had one copy of our marriage certificate (despite asking for more copies!).
We took the original to our Solicitor and they photocopied it, certified them and charged us £5.00. They would have done as many as we needed but we only wanted three and then sent them off to get my name changed on bank accounts etc - asked for banks etc to return them and I still have the original and the three copies (just in case).0 -

I doubt it! Post master are normally ok to witness signatures, but not to certify documents, that will depend on the company accepting them.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092
